Spring is right around the corner (according to the groundhog) so it’s time to stock up on those cute spring outfits for your little ones! I have to tell you about my newest favorite NH Baby Store. Stork Organic Baby Boutique in Amherst is a sweet little shop that has the nicest owners and is filled with stylish and trendy clothes for your kiddos!

About This NH Baby Store
Located on 101A in Amherst, NH, this shop is owned by Andrea and Adam and has been in business for 16 years. The shop used to be located right on the oval in Milford but they moved to Amherst (right across from Nellie’s Treehouse Daycare). They are family owned and operated which really makes you feel good about supporting a local business. This shop carries many of the name brands like Rylee + Cru, Quincy Mae, Make Make Organics and more.
Products
Stork Organic Baby Boutique has it all from baby clothing to baby carriers and wraps. They truly are a one-stop-shop for all of your essentials. It is a perfect spot for the parent who is nesting right before baby comes and wants to stick with organic and sustainable options. This is my go-to shop for any baby shower or first birthday party because they always have fun and unique toys. I always feel good about giving one of their items as a gift because I can rest assured that it is organically made and safe for all kiddos.
Do you have older kids? Fear not! They have plenty of toys for all ages. They carry toy brands like Goki, HABA, Bug + Bean, and more. My toddler loved the Bug + Bean silicone tea set I bought him for Christmas!
Clothes
Because this is a smaller NH baby store, they can refresh their inventory frequently to keep up with each season. I make it a point to pop in once every season to add new pieces to my Client Wardrobe, and every time I visit, I discover something new! Last time I went, I was obsessed with the bubble rompers they carry for my Baby Plan clients who are scheduling sitter sessions and cake smashes. Luckily they have a range of sizes so if you have multiple kids in different sizes, you can get them all a new outfit in one place. A lot of my clients go a couple of months before their session with me so they can get inspiration for the color palette and style they want for their images. Always check with me before buying a new outfit for your little one because I may have it in my Client Wardrobe for them to borrow!
Toys
In addition to their adorable collection of trendy clothes, they carry all kinds of sustainable eco-friendly made toys for you to take with you to the beach this summer. I bought my children this handy all-in-one beach toy set that they are already using in the backyard: LINK. It comes with little ice cream cones so they pretend they are scooping sand ice cream into it (of course we stop for REAL ice cream on the way home!).
I feel like we are spending every weekend at a friend’s birthday party lately so I will often stop here to shop for a gift for the kiddo. I am a big fan of their wooden toys because they are so quality and will last through multiple children. I also like gifting pretend play items where kids have to use their imagination like Sarah’s Silks Playsilks. I know the parents also appreciate these gifts because the last thing someone wants is another plastic toy that breaks after a few uses.
What to Buy
A lot of my clients choose to borrow outfits from my Client Wardrobe because it is filled with timeless and simple outfits for their children. I carry a range of styles and sizes to fit every family’s needs because I know how challenging it can be to shop with kids in tow. Some families prefer to buy a new outfit for their children instead because they are excited to pick something out. I fully support that! Here are some tips to remember when you are picking out children’s clothing for your next session:
Simple – I always tell clients when in doubt, keep it simple. Honestly, some of the best sessions I have ever had were with kids in a henley shirt and a pair of comfy linen pants or a plain white dress. I’m photographing the love and connection between your family…we don’t want any of your outfits taking away from that!
Comfortable – Kids will NOT be happy if they are itchy from a fabric or wearing something too tight on them. Can you blame them? There is nothing worse! We want to make sure the kids are comfortable so we can grab as many smiles on camera as possible!
Basic Colors/Patterns – If you take a look at my portfolio, you’ll notice that most of the children (and adults) are wearing lots of creams, whites, light blues/grays, tans, etc. That is purposeful! By straying from the really loud colors, we are again drawing the attention to your family instead of what you are wearing. If you want something with a little more excitement, try adding in texture! That can add some depth to your images and photographs beautifully.
Versatile – Buy something that you’d have your kids wear again! We might as well repurpose the outfits instead of just putting them on for an hour!
